Young people play a wide range of instruments in our orchestras, including many that are easily recognisable. But for some, playing a conventional musical instrument is simply not an option.
We’ve spent the last ten years working alongside young disabled people, teachers and music leaders, to create the Clarion – an award-winning, accessible musical instrument that can be played independently with any part of the body, including the eyes.
The Clarion is currently available through Open Orchestras and the National Open Youth Orchestra, but we are planning to make it available outside of those programmes in 2024. To find out more and register your interest, please click the button below.
